Welcome to the Island. This is not your typical vacation getaway, rather an escape of our very own. If you are brave enough to stay awhile, grab a beach chair and enjoy. The natives are mostly all smiles with the occasional uprising. The food is plentiful but not very exotic. You may need to duck if and when one of our young natives starts throwing spears or other sharp objects. The Island Chief and Medicine Woman work those issues out when they arise. Welcome...oh and watch out for the many island pets. um... there are a bunch...

Nothing out of the ordinary...in our house.

In our house, some could say this is an unsightly dog kennel that's too big to look nice in any room and obviously evidence of child endangerment...the occupants of our home however see this as a cool place to hang out and play...with a dog...and watch T.V.  Nothing out of the  ordinary here...

Some may look at this next picture and think it a little odd.  What you say?.... you don't throw birthday parties for your dogs?...A birthday party for a dog is nothing out of the ordinary in our house.  Sad but true.

In other families, a child with a black eye is a big event.  A certain member of our home, no name mentioned....might rhyme with Cannon, has had more black eyes then I can count.  This scene would be surprising to some, a sign of child endangerment to others, a normal monthly event in our home.  (in case you're wondering, he ran into the trampoline with his face)  You know how elusive those trampolines can be...just jump out of no where when you're not lookin'.

This next little item is a picture of a normal Q-Tip you find in all bathrooms.  But in our house, this is an instrument of art and creativity... So there I am at 6:30 in the morning looking for the last of the Q-tips.... only one left and the rest are no where to be found...dang!

Then I look up and discover what happened to the Q-tips.  I'm kinda impressed.  I would have never thought of that...and I think I know who made this art piece.  hhmmmm.G..a..n..n..o..n.. Nothing out of the ordinary in our house.

Some may view this as a beautiful rose bush that is lovely to have in your backyard.  Bright colors that smell wonderful...how peaceful.

In my house, that stupid rose bush is a $100 emergency room deductible.  Only at my house can we turn that lovely scene into a shirt-shredding bloody horror scene.  Lets just say playing football in the same yard as said rose bush (with a the neighbors puppy) and not watching where your running (at full speed) results in the below little injury.  Nothing out of the ordinary in our house.  Heck, they know us on a first name basis at the emergency room.  CPS..please don't call me.

Here, most would see an unsightly old dog with no bottom jaw that drools too much with a broken crooked hairless tail that is obviously too old to adopt...in our house we see a loyal old lap warmer that loves car rides and belly-rubs and has lots of love still left in him.  Love ya "Pops"!

Only in our house, but I wouldn't want it any other way. :-)
